The CLEAR Innovation network is a special program for professional mobile Internet application, service, and content developers who live or work in Silicon Valley. This program provides early access to the Bay area's pre-commercial network for the duration of the program. Participants will also have access to special events and developer resources.
Approved participants will receive early network access at no charge for the duration of the program, up to one year. They will also get access to developer resources and invitations to special events. Participants will be required to own or purchase an approved device.
CLEAR is working with the world's leading 4G technology, internet application, and internet communications companies to bring developers this new service. Cisco, Comcast, Google, Intel, Sprint, Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks are all official partners in the program….
The CLEAR Innovation Network is a special program for CLEAR Developers in Silicon Valley. If you meet the requirements for the innovation network and are an approved participant, you will also be enrolled in CLEAR Developer program. Developers who do not live or work in Silicon Valley can still participate in the other aspects of the CLEAR Developer program (link to Developer portal)
The CLEAR Innovation network is for professional developers who work with mobile internet software applications, services, or content. To qualify as a professional developer the applicant should work in or be a student in the targeted professions. We may ask for employment, business, or academic information to verify that the applicant is a professional developer. Program participation is not designed for general internet access, recreational, or home use.
The CLEAR Innovation Network is a free service for CLEAR approved application and service developers who live or work in Silicon Valley. To qualify you must a) live or work in or adjacent to the coverage area b) own or purchase an approved mobile device for the CLEAR Network c) be a professional mobile internet application, service, or content developer d) agree to the CLEAR Innovation Network terms and conditions for use. CLEAR reserves the right to accept or reject any applicant for any reason.
The CLEAR Innovation network will initially cover portions of Santa Clara, Mountain View, and Palo Alto. Click here to check coverage. Over the next year this coverage area will grow to cover most of Silicon Valley.
CLEAR will accept some applicants who live in close proximity to the coverage area. Developers in those areas will be required to travel to the coverage in order to use the service.
CLEAR has permitted people to join the innovation network at an early stage of the network build out. Some users may have to change locations or travel to the coverage areas in order to use the service for application development and testing. Most applicants are rejected because they do not live or work in or adjacent to the Innovation Coverage area. Other reasons for denial could be: applicant did not meet the requirements for being a professional mobile Internet application developer did not have a 'proposed use' or project consistent with the Innovation Network's objectives, did not accept CLEAR's terms and conditions, or provided an incomplete application.

At this time only mobile WiMAX services and devices will be offered for use on the CLEAR innovation network. Your mobile USB modem or embedded device may or may not work at your home or work location and you may have to change locations to get good coverage.
Dual mode, RSU's, or home modems are not available for innovation network use at this time.

Innovation Network Service for approved participants will be available for a maximum of one year or the duration of the program (tentatively Sept '09-Oct '10). The program will be a limited time offer. In order to maintain the level of service and support for the program CLEAR reserves the right to limit the number of participants and can stop accepting new applicants at any time. Participants will have the opportunity to subscribe to CLEAR commercial service at the sunset of the program.
